Hamas was found at the beginning of the first Palestinian uprising. Israel had a budget spent to build up Hamas to rival Yasser Arafat's Fatah Political party and his liberation movement.
A blockade was first imposed on Gaza by Egypt and Israel in 2005 restricting the movements of people and goods in and out of Gaza. After Hamas's takeover in 2007 the supposed purpose of this blockade was to isolate and destroy them. [3]

Palestinian casualties outnumber Israel's by multiple of sometimes above 20. In the most recent conflict the genocide of the people of Gaza is still ongoing.
